Spent several hours flight testing the big twin engine Red Helicam in Columbus this weekend along with the Canon 5D Mark II on the Logo 700 electric. Both helicopters worked well and we walked away with some great shots and even more ideas to improve the set ups.

Well we are about a week away from the our flight date with the Red.  The site is to be scoped out and project outlined. 

Red Helicam Update

All airframe modifications are now complete. The new configuration has been load tested up to 20 lbs. on the front mounted camera gimbal. With the Red mounted on the aircraft the entire system weighs in at 44 lbs. total. To my pleasant surprise there was still a very nice climb rate when collective pitch was applied. As soon as the team can synchronize their very hectic work schedules, we will be a go to collect our first Red One helicam images.
